Viton®
Viton® Fluoroelastomer Rubber sheet is resistant to a wide range of oils and solvents. It exhibits good abrasion and tear resistance.
Viton®
Fluoroelastomer
Viton® means the part has been manufactured and distributed in accordance with DuPont Performance Elastomers’ guidelines. Only parts made with 100% virgin Viton® as the sole elastomeric component are labeled with this seal.
To ensure that you always receive the highest quality FKM products available, insist on 100% virgin DuPont Performance Elastomers Viton® and look for the “Made With Genuine Viton® seal.
Viton® (FKM) fluoroelastomer is the most specified fluoroelastomer, well known for its excellent (400°F/200°C) heat resistance. Viton® (FKM) offers excellent resistance to aggressive fuels and chemicals. This flouroelastomer is very versatile and can be
altered through its Fluorine content to cater to many industry needs.

Viton® Performance Differences.
As you can tell from the charts above, there are multiple grades of Viton. The percentage of flourine and the method of curing determine the grade. Each grade will perform differently in extreme applications. The chart on the right indicates Dupont’s common material choices for oil service. The links below will take you to specific Viton product pages.
Viton Elastomers
Is Viton a solution for most applications?
Viton is an exceptional material and a problem solver for many applications, but like any elastomer, it does have its limits. To overcome some of those limitations Dupont did develop multiple variations eight of which are shown above. The significant changes are in the temperature range and the chemical resistance. To determine which grade is best for your application, contact our experienced staff at American Seal & Packing
