How do I measure my seal?
Mechanical seals all have a method of sealing the shaft. In order to do so, the seal must have an interference fit with the shaft. When measuring the inside dimension of your seal with a dial caliber, expect the measurement to come up shy of a nominal dimension. The reason is the sealing element must be compressed in order to create a seal.
