First, let’s take the name brands out of the equation. It’s not hard to assume most brands are good brands.  The elastomers and the seal faces often come from the same place. We all know who makes the best ceramic, the best carbon, Tungsten carbide or Silicon carbide. Most manufacturers by the molded rubber bellows too.  The metal is stamped and the parts are assembled. What makes a seal last is proper fit, and the correct material choices.  A type 1E, 2D, 21C all will perform about the same.  The quality of the installation will have a far greater effect than the difference in seal design.
