Should I try a multi-spring mechanical seal?
Single spring seals were likely the first style of mechanical seal. When applications are near the maximum pressure for a single spring seal, Multi-spring seals can be great solution. Multiple spring seals are designed to be in-line pressure balanced or fully balanced if a step is cut into the sleeve. Balancing spreads the pressure across a wider seal face. Multi spring seals can also have the springs isolated by o-rings, to prevent a seal from clogging.
