Should I upgrade my seal face materials and elastomers in my seal?
Every application is different. Deciding to upgrade your seal starts at upgrading seal faces and elastomers to superior materials. In the case of face material, an upgrade always results in a longer-lasting seal. In the case of elastomers, use only what you need for the media being sealed. Upgrading usually won’t help unless you are experiencing temperature excursions or a new washout chemical (or change in media).
